My Pharmacy Ltd (T/A Shelly’s) provides enhanced services and clinical services such as NHS supervised consumption, needle exchange service, a flu/travel vaccination clinic and smoking cessation. As a Healthy Living Pharmacy we pro-actively support, promote and help improve health and wellbeing of patients. We have achieved a 100% pass rate with our pre-registration trainees.
All members of the pharmacy team will help to support the learning and development of the pre-registration trainee.
The trainee will be responding to symptoms to patients who require OTC advice in a safe and appropriate manner, and learning when/where to signpost/refer. Assistance will be provided to the pharmacy team in the dispensing and supply of medicines ensuring safe procedures and record keeping. The trainee will be required to keep up to date with new procedures, guidelines, medicines and MHRA alerts and latest POM to P switches. A relevant clinical audit will need to be carried out and a final report of the findings will be produced.
Comprehensive training from an external provider (ProPharmace) will be provided. Clinical learning will be built on during training days, and learning will be applied at work in preparation for the GPhC registration examination.
The trainee will need to demonstrate that the GPhC performance standards have been carried out competently in daily duties.
Two week cross sector placement organised (to be confirmed) and an opportunity to shadow an independent prescribing pharmacist (to be confirmed)
Working hours: Monday to Friday 9am – 6pm
Four week holiday and extended study time nearer to the registration exam.
Applicants must have successfully completed, or nearing completion of the MPharm Degree from an accredited school of pharmacy.
